Heartleaf

The Heartleaf Philodendron, or Philodendron Scandens is easy to care for and easy to love. Originating in Central America and the Caribbean, the Heartleaf Philodendron features glossy, forest-green heart-shaped leaves that grow into long, sprawling vines, adding a tropical energy to any space. Its heart-shaped foliage is also the inspiration for its scientific name, derived from the Greek words philo, (meaning love), and dendron (meaning tree).
Philodendron Scandens thrive in well-lit spaces with bright or indirect sunlight but can also adapt to low-light conditions where the source of light is further away. Avoid placing it in darker areas without natural light.

On your Philodendron Scandens’ first few days at home, it may drop a few leaves or they might turn yellow. Don’t worry – this is completely normal. Once the plant has adjusted to its new environment, the Philodendron Scandens will be resilient and easy to care for. To encourage steady growth, dust the leaves occasionally and give the pot a quarter of a turn once a month.
Heartleaf Philodendrons (Philodendron Scandens or Sweetheart Plants) and Pothos are very similar plants, but with the right knowledge, it’s simple to tell them apart by the shape of their leaves. The Heartleaf Philodendron has distinctly heart-shaped leaves that curl inward like the top of a heart. What’s more, Heartleaf Philodendrons can survive in lower light than Pathos, which tends to like slightly higher temperatures. Both species will grow long vines that will hang down or climb a trellis.
If you're looking for a plant that can stay with you for years, a Philodendron Scandens is a great option. These plants can live remarkably long lives and when well cared for, you can expect to have your Philodendron Scandens for a decade or more.
